February Recap: Guest Speaker Rebecca Drobis

 Our guest photographer and judge was Rebecca Drobis. Rebecca, a commercial photographer and a born-and-bred Washingtonian presented her work that focuses on the following thematic areas: health, education, kids/young adults, family and portraits. She  showed a special video entitled “The Ice Cream Man” shot while doing a photo project on the Montana’s Blackfeet Reservation. Rebecca first travelled there at the invitation of a friend who grew up nearby. That trip turned into a multi-year, multi-media art project that documents  – from one year to the next  – the life of the Blackfeet Reservation community of 7,000 residents with a staggering 69% unemployment rate.
